


G. Raymond Chang is recognized as an outstanding Canadian and Jamaican business leader and philanthropist whose investments of personal resources and dedicated attention have advanced several sectors.
Jamaican born, Mr. Chang was CEO and Chair of CI Financial where he remains a Director. Through his investment holding company, he is active in several commercial enterprises in Canada, the Caribbean and worldwide.
Through his support, Ryerson University's school of Continuing Education was named in his honour. In 2005 he received an honorary doctorate from Ryerson and in 2006 he was bestowed the honour of Chancellor.
Mr. Chang is a Board member of the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation and a supporter of the University Health Network where he enabled the establishment of a Fellowship to train West Indian doctors at the UHN. He is also a Governor of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).
Mr. Chang's Foundation focuses on health, education and environment. Supporting good works in Jamaica, he continues to be a generous benefactor and champion of education, through his alma mater high school, St. George's College, as well as the University of the West Indies (UWI).
In 2003 he was honoured with the Prime Minister's Medal of Appreciation for Service to Jamaica. In 2007 Mr. Chang received an honorary doctorate from UWI and also funded a Chair in Family Medicine at the University.
Mr. Chang sits on the Board of GraceKennedy and Company Limited and is a major shareholder in Walkerswood Caribbean Foods as well as Corpak Jamaica Limited.
In 2010 the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Toronto Chapter named G. Raymond Chang the Outstanding Philanthropist for the year. In August 2011, Mr. Chang was bestowed the Order of Jamaica.
Ray Chang believes in the best of the human spirit and that we all have the ability to extend ourselves well beyond our boundaries, whatever they may be or, wherever we may be.
